Bought a wire photo frame stand from dollar store and reworked the corners to fit the iPad, only it doesn't have room for the dock connector on the bottom, so of I want portrait I have to put it up side down. Added friction sheet rolled onto the frame for stability and protection (for my iPad).

I made a stand from a coat hanger. I got it from watching a video on CNet. I can't post the link yet (only my 2nd post) but here's the title of the write up: "Turn a coat hanger into an iPad stand". Works well for me!

This is my simple stand but it works great for me. And because it is soft wood it would not scratch my pad!!

It looks like it could be a mulit function stand, pour some charcoal on the ground and stick the "forks" into the ground at the desired hight and Wa-La! intsa grill too... Just kidding :D It does look pretty beefy, I doubt much would knock it over...

Made mine from poplar wood, with two slots for different viewing angles.

Very simple and nice, I may have to use this idea

Sent from my iPad 2 using iPF

Here's mine, it's made with foam board and two sheets of card stock. It's a little rough, I made it in a hurry.

It allows me to use the iPad without removing its cover

And here's the stand opened.

It's not the prettiest stand you'll find, but it is very practical. It's cheap, small and very light, perfect to throw inside the backpack.
