Lovin the MacLife

:DHey All. New to the forum but not to Mac products. Started out with a 12" Powerbook then upgraded to the Unibody MacBook Pro (15") and the 27" iMac for home. Numerous iPods and a couple of iPhones as well as Apple TV. Recently purchased two iPads, one for the wife and one for me. Awesome toy, I find it much easier to use when travelling through multiple airports than dragging out the MacBook to check my e-mail on the road.

Hello from Yukon, Oklahoma! Been an Apple addict for about 20 years. Have several "retired" Macs, currently use a Mac Mini for my desktop, a Dell laptop (sorry, but had an Apple laptop, but hubby took it on the road), several iPods & an iPhone (for daughter, spoiled brat!). And now got my iPad just this week, 16Gb, WiFi + 3G. Love it, love it! Just a beginner, but getting good help from daughter, since she's experienced with iPhone.
#1 question: how do I use the bluetooth? i.e. I went to Settings/General/Bluetooth, turned it on, it starts searching (says "now discoverable") but just searches, never finding my Mac mini, which I have set up & always is found by my phone. Any clues?
#2 question: I found this forum when searching for info on playing Pogo games on iPad, which I gather from reading there, is not gonna happen? Also, my phone (a Pantech, if that matters) will see my iPad, but I can't pair it, coz I don't have a pw set for the iPad.
Interests - Country music, computer games, Facebook, TV
Apps (so far) - iBooks, several keyboard apps, Facebook, Flixter, Zinio, ABC Player, GT Racer, Glee (only paid for app so far), Tips for iPad, Pandora, Shazam, CMT Insider, VLC, a few cheesy games.
Will be looking for a few good games, but I'm mostly into cards & some board games, not too great at action/adventure games.
Am seriously considering the Pages app, but I have Adobe Suite on my Mini, so may not spend the $$ right now.
OK, if you've made it this far & I haven't bored you to death, then you probably have things to tell me, teach me ... I'm an open book!
TIA!

Hello everyone.

I am not a big Apple fan and this is my second Apple product as I currently own a Nano Ipod (last generation). In fact, my laptops and desktop are Win 7 and my smartphone is a Droid (rooted).
I received my 16 GB wifi/3g Ipad only yesterday and have only spent 1-2 hours with it.
My first impression is that it is an overpriced, larger IPhone or Smartphone.
I do find it heavier than first perceived but it is definitely lighter than a netbook or notebook.
I am having problems with intermittent wifi and its settings. It seems many reboots fixes some issues and am surprised by that (I thought Apple products always "worked" right out of the box?).
At&t's network is slow for the most part (I have Verizon on Android and it is blazing fast and stable).
Nevertheless, I will continue to explore and keep an open mind and look forward to learning while contributing when I can.
Cheers!

This is me to a tee..I was interested in the IPad and thought I'd pick one up, try it out and if I didn't like it, I could return it. At first I thought the same thing-Overpriced Iphone, but after playing with it constantly, I'm convinced it's the BEST...I can't live without it! I have to force myself to leave it at home or I won't get ANY work done. I'm an IPAD addict!!! Just wish that Apple would settle their 'issues' with Flash...

Hi, I'm an indie developer of the game Monster Feed HD for the iPad. It's a new tower defense game with a lot to offer!
Check it out!

Hi there everyone. I am not new to the forums but I am just now beginning to post and contribute. I've gained a lot of knowledge from everyone and I appreciate it a lot. I got my iPad back in May (64gb wifi) and I totally love it. It's my first Apple product and since then I have even upgraded my cell phone to an iPhone. I think I'm hooked, lol.

Talk to ya later!

New to forum and Ipad

I just stumbled across this forum and it looks like it has a lot of good information. I am an American currently living in Mongolia and just received my Ipad. I got it primarily for reading books and magazines while flying. I have tried reading books and the Iphone and it works ok but the battery life is pretty bad. For magazine the iphone is useless. I use zinio for my magazines and it is great. I have also discovered that the ipad 3g makes a great gps device. I have used Motion X on the iphone and it is pretty good but again the battery life is very limiting. Motion X HD on the ipad looks great. I am going to be in Beijing for a week next week and it will give me a chance to see how it works without having to have network coverage.

Thanks
