I have a first generation iPad, and I don't know how to update the operating system. I still have iOS 3 and can't even use 90 percent of the apps I want. I'm truly not an idiot, but when I connect the device to my computer, nothing happens and I have no idea what to do.

Hi there,

Have you ensured that iTunes on your Mac/PC is the most up to date version?
