Hallo everyone, my company issued me with an iPad a couple of weeks ago. After 20 years of supporting Microsoft products, it is quite a culture shock. I am still having a hard time getting to grips with the way it works. Not being to access it directly by plugging it into a pc was maye the biggest problem in the beginning but I am getting used to iTunes. Hopefully the new IOS5 will improve things slightly, busy upgrading right now. It is a slow process, I think millions of other Apple users are all upgrading as well. And it does not help being at the end of a very long cable here in South Africa.

welcome all ! the new ios5 is out !

And jailbreak for iOS 5 iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1, iPod touch 3G and iPod touch 4G is out. MuscleNerd has confirmed that the current redsn0w tool can jailbreak iOS 5 tethered not untethered.

Tethered jailbreak means you’ll have to plug in your device to your computer every time it reboots to make a “Just Tethered Boot” from redsn0w.

NOTE: iPad 2 is not supported in this jailbreak. Jailbreak iPad 2 is supposed to be jailbroken within few days along with the iPhone 4S bringing untethered iOS 5 jailbreak.

I am very interested in the use of the I-pad for ALS patients or other persons with limited voice and voluntary muscle control. There are other specialty computer devices available, but I hope the I-pad will be an economical alternative.........desktop computer
