I successfully created and populated a playlist, and I have lot of work ahead of me. I plan on looking for a user manual for the native Music app. Do you know how to sort items in a playlist, and how to delete a playlist entirely?

Ok, i figured out how to delete a playlist, but I still can't find how to sort a playlist (alphabetically) short of manually dragging them into place. I referred to the iPad user guide...probably should have done that first.

welcome tot he forum lisa. you will find that many people have different views on the best case. i personally have the silicone case around my ipad and then i keep my ipad in a softcase. its pretty sturdy. as for apps and warranty you will have to use the search button

I'm sure your daughter will fall in love with her new iPad. As kingnba6 mentioned, you can use the search feature (upper left-hand corner of every page) to search out the best iPad cases, etc.

The iPad comes with a full one-year warranty and there are thousands of reports of Apple replacing damaged iPads for free as a goodwill gesture if they are still under warranty (although they aren't obligated to do so). With respect to an extended warranty that will cover everything including accidental drops, cracked screen, etc. SquareTrade has the best long-term reputation in the business.
