Great pictures as usual Richard. Brings back memories including a very pleasant cruise on the Thames. I also remember the sail clipper Cutty Sark. Is that still there or have they moved it?

Thanks Andrew.

The Cutty Sark has been moved, but just 3M vertically. The move was a stroke of genius.

The Gipsy Moth in which Sir Francis Chichester circumnavigated the world single-handed was near Cutty Sark for some years. She was moved to a new place a long time back - I don't know where to.

I agree with JA! I have never seen a photo of England before where the grass is straw-like rather than lush and green! We haven't had rain in 26 days ( I think - I am not keeping up on my days very well yet ) . Gorgeous photo's I would have never seen without your input! Thanks! Congrats on the new baby boy prince!

We now have 3 future kings and our queen alive and well. :)

Those are pretty blooms, Scifan. They should last well.

There's a village on this picture, barely visible: Fertöujlak, Hungary.

I was here when I took this picture:

(The village is in the circle, my location when I took this picture is marked with the encircled cross.)

That first photo looks quite menacing.

Is that your impression?

The original wouldn't have shown the rays of the sun clearly.

That's it. The other one is edited.

Too bad all those clouds aren't giving you the rain you need. They do make very good photos, though.

They really do. :-)
It's not raining at the moment. There are no stars visible, the sky must be covered with clouds. I hope the forecast was right. It should start raining tonight.

BOY - just getting back to this thread and 40 pages or so have newly appeared! :D A lot of great pics & sincere posts - thanks for sharing! :)

Well, I'm an amateur woodworker and just getting back into doing some projects - in the Spring we vacationed in south Florida (Naples area) and picked up a couple of inexpensive prints which I just completed - the frames are non-miter and have a rustic look; for the left print of two pelicans, I used spalted maple (which is infected w/ a fungus giving the unusual colors); for the right print of 'playing manatees' the wood used is quarter-sawn oak - inside & outer edges rounded over w/ a trim router; simple home-made wiping finish (oil poly + naphtha).

NOW, I need to find a place to hang them! We've been collecting art for 40 yrs and have ran out of room in our modest house - Dave

Those are very nice prints, your frames really set them off.:)

They're looking good, especially the one with the pelicans.

If you've run out of room: there would be enough in my house. ;-)
