They're looking good, especially the one with the pelicans.

If you've run out of room: there would be enough in my house. ;-)

Thanks Johanna & Scifan57 for your comments - for Johanna, not sure how large your house may be, but probably could cover a few dozen walls (hey, a LOT of pics that I could post here?) - Dave :)

I didn't count my walls yet.
If you want to start an exhibition in Austria, we could move our furniture somewhere else, there should be room enough for your pictures. :D

This was a genuinely-threatening cloud, scanned from a slide taken in 1974. The road took us right under it! The headwind was so strong, our car couldn't get over 50 mph (80 kph). We were more than a little nervous about tornadoes.

BOY - just getting back to this thread and 40 pages or so have newly appeared! :D A lot of great pics & sincere posts - thanks for sharing! :)

Well, I'm an amateur woodworker and just getting back into doing some projects - in the Spring we vacationed in south Florida (Naples area) and picked up a couple of inexpensive prints which I just completed - the frames are non-miter and have a rustic look; for the left print of two pelicans, I used spalted maple (which is infected w/ a fungus giving the unusual colors); for the right print of 'playing manatees' the wood used is quarter-sawn oak - inside & outer edges rounded over w/ a trim router; simple home-made wiping finish (oil poly + naphtha).

NOW, I need to find a place to hang them! We've been collecting art for 40 yrs and have ran out of room in our modest house - Dave

Very nice prints Giradman!

Love that you made the frames yourself, you're very talented! ;)

Thanks Leelai - just another project from a few years ago for only the Ladies here - a wall hanging necklace case for my wife - NOW, she loves jewelry and after 40+ years of marriage has collected a LOT (can't complain since I have my own collecting habits, i.e. optical discs!) - she has about a half dozen boxes for her jewelry, but had a major problem w/ necklaces, i.e. different lengths and many - HOW to organize?

SO, I designed the cabinet below (basically, a thinner version of a medicine cabinet) - made from mahogany (the darker wood) and 'Birds-eye Maple' - pic below on left shows the cabinet closed and on the wall (low profile like a picture), and then opened w/ all of her necklaces nicely hung and easily accessible - she LOVEs it and I'm proud to have come up w/ this design for her - a FUN project! Dave

Oh my.....that is just brilliant! How nice of you to do this for her, I would just love one of those for my many necklaces.....she is certainly loved!

It's beautiful.....you certainly have an eye for detail and do such lovely well crafted work.

What a very lucky wife you have....but then again I'm thinking you are both very lucky to have each other. ;)

I LOVE woodwork! Then when I saw your frames I just stared and stared, how beautiful! Brilliant to be able to create such a seamless piece of art to put a piece of art in! Major kudo's. I really appreciate the choice of woods you used for your wife's jewelry too! Thanks for sharing those!

Thanks! He not only does he make me jewelry boxes, he buys me jewelry to put in them. :):):)

I found these on twisted sister. There are many more if you're interested. They are quite fascinating.

These were all made by a 19-year-old Japanese artist named Chooo-san. If you click over to her website, you’ll see these aren’t the only ones.
