Can crocuses (croci?) be pale yellow, almost white in colour? I seem to remember such flowers were the first to appear in a European spring thaw. Maybe another name?

Something I did not know, that they grow in Queensland. Still what do I know, my wife is the flower expert. I know that the lawns I mow are made of grass, usually green

Amazingly beautiful. We only see something like this during sand storms - when the wind is more than 30mph steady and gusting at 45 or more. If it is close to sunset it becomes striking, but everything gets etched.
