We visited Southbank today which is on the banks of the Brisbane River across from the city of Brisbane. It was the site of World Expo 1988 which just happened to have its 25th anniversary from when it first opened today. It has been transformed into many different areas for everyone to enjoy and it was just such a beautiful day to enjoy it all!

Thanks for the wonderful views. It's places like this that make the cities that have them such fun places to live in and visit.

When you're in a place like this, it's easy to forget how close you are to a big city. I would find it quite easy to spend days in a place like this. Thank you for taking the time to share these photos with us.
 
Thank you Sci! Southbank really is a favourite for everyone in Brisbane as it offers so much to do. There are restaurants galore all around the site with quite a few watering holes to sit back, relax and take in the views. Our Museum and Performing Arts Centre are just down the road also.

You just have to visit here if you ever come to Brisbane! ;)

I love the festive pics. I read the flood sign also...that was a lot of water that came in from Brisbane!

Love "Andrew's" Hat--I'll take one myself...they are darn cute to wear!! :)

That flood sign was a very poignant reminder of what did happen here.

Those floods truly devastated Brisbane and the whole of Queensland. :(

Isn't the hat just soooo cute! ;)

It certainly is a reminder for all those who were effected by the flooding, but in that devastation came re-growth which is just wonderful to see!

Yes...I need one of those hats for my next Ski trip!! Love the ears!! :)
