It is a separate component part of the theme, so you can use it on it's own.

The weather widget is not working for me, it becomes the background like this;

First turn off summerboard mode in Winterboard. That will stop it being expanded. You should not use summerboard mode unless a theme requires it.

Second the widget may be portrait only. Many are.

Just one more thing; how do I make the widget show the weather of where I live?
It says "Zion" now, and I hope for the people of Zion the temperature is in degrees Fahrenheit.
Can I change it to degrees Celsius?
