Well I suppose you can't blame him. They would have probably tortured him or something.

I am 1 day late with this, but the video wasn't available till today.

On Sunday 13th January, 2013, a stam train was run along part of the Metropolitan Line of the London Underground to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the system. Check out this video on YouTube:

I will edit in a couple more links. I am not ashamed to admit that viewing the vide brought a tear or two to my eyes. :)

Thanks for sharing this with us. I can imagine what all that steam and smoke would be like in the Underground back in the day. Is this train normal,y located at a museum somewhere? I plan to visit London in a couple of years and would like to see it, if possible.

My initial thoughts were that the engine and rolling stock are on display at the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden, London. My researches, so far, indicate that my hunch is correct. I am including some links.

http://www.londonreconnections.com/2012/lu150-steam-on-the-underground-timetable-and-prices/ this link covers fares for heritage runs on LU. All tickets sold out long ago.

This link is to the LT Museum website. http://www.ltmuseum.co.uk/whats-on/events/events-calendar#steam scroll down to the article on the steam train runs. The carriages are the property of the Bluebell Railway located on the borders of East and West Sussex.

The steam locomotive, Met Loco 1 belongs to the LT Museum. http://www.ltmuseum.co.uk/collections/projects/met-1
