Last time I was on the hard shoulder, the car broke down and we got told off just for sitting in the car and not standing on the side of the road for safety. That was a few years ago mind!

yes you're supposed to leave your car and stand behind the safety barrier,I'm still laughing to myself at that couple treating it like a picnic area.

I'm sure some people mistake the hard shoulder
for a buffet table. It probably happens more often than you know.

Or it could have been Canadian tourists who couldn't find a road side restaurant with a driven-thru window so they made their own.

When humans and food are involved, anything's possible.

We've been reading a little about the Olympics and the diamond jubilee. My class and I went to the website and sent her an email. The kids were thrilled especially when they got a thank you card from the Queen. They really thought she sent it...lol
