I've just read that Avaaz has hit 15 million members.

Members are in 194 countries.

All I'm saying is, google Avaaz to find out more. The organisation / community does a lot of good worldwide.

The front page of today's Daily Mail is interesting for the juxtaposition of 2 stories.

The main story is about a new training ship which will be built and run entirely from private funds. An appeal is being launched for philanthropists to pitch in. The story is on this link. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/index.html

The next story is about Eva Rausing, the Tetrapak son's wife who died from, it is alleged, drugs overdoses. The family is filthy rich. Surely their wealth, and family members' time, would be better spent on worthwhile projects.

Hey Richard
Thanks for the Mail link to the new training ship news & the graphics. If they could get the dosh, a fantastic project!

We live with the seas all around us here but sometimes they just seem to be ignored. And together with that go the related old traditional occupations & crafts which are dying...old moan but true, sadly.

Such as coracle-making for one:

Yes, having money hasn't brought happiness. Very sad story. Sounds like the husband is suffering too. I wonder why he put her in black bin bags? We had a case in my brother in laws flats. The flat upstairs had a decomposing body kept for months before people complained about the smell. The husband kept the secret for ages. Very sad.

Just learnt that the iOS 6 beta update has a problem with people like me, who has way too many apps.

MidAtlanticConsulting’s Jeff Lauterette has discovered, and confirmed with Apple, that there is a virtual limit to the number of apps in Apple’s iOS 6 betas 1-3. When a user has over 500 apps on their iDevice, they will start having slow booting, auto-rebooting, and other issues due to the OS rejecting the number of apps. Get up to 1000 and your device will not even boot forcing you to restore.
At first, Apple’s stand was, “Who needs that many apps?” After many discussions, MidAtlanticConsulting report they were able to convince Apple that if they expect the iPhone to replace your phone, your pocket gaming system, your smart-home remotes, your TV remotes, you day-timer, etc. then they have to allow almost unlimited apps. If you go back a ways in keynote addresses, you will see that Steve Jobs said your only limit was the number of apps per folder and the number of folders you could fit in the 11 screens of apps. In iOS 6 betas 1-3, this is not possible, although it was in iOS 4 and iOS 5.
Apple said they will be fixing this issue, but the fix may not be in the next beta.

I haven't followed the developments about the new facilities made available, but I did smile when I read that there are capacity limits on iCloud. Those limits were reached fairly quickly when users put large files, such as high resolution photos onto their iCloud accounts.

Trying to justify why I took hold of my iPad rather than the railing. I slipped down the stairs.

Are you okay? I'm guessing the iPad is fine!

It always worries me coming down our steps with my iPad.

Hope you didn't hurt yourself!

Almost hurt myself. Troy my cat got hurt. He keeps on crossing in front of people when people go upstairs or downstairs. I didn't slipped. He did. I felt bad for him because everyone heard him cry when he rolled downstairs. Had to bring him to the clinic.
