What's new

The "Anything Goes" thread

My second daughter bought her first car yesterday afternoon.....how excited she was!

She's taken it out for the first time today and someone has just driven into the back of it! What luck! :(

No, oh no...Leelai! That is such a bummer! Is she ok? :(

Yes she's fine Ski.....just upset about the car. She had to wait until Saturday to get it.

It didn't even have a scratch on it and looked brand new inside and out.......:(

Looks like the room is filled to capacity. Is there any entertainment?

Where's the dance floor? Maybe on the tables. ;)

Hope you're having lots of fun!

We hope it pans out that way Sci.....you just never know who has insurance these days.

Not too much damage but it certainly burst her bubble!

The important thing is for her to get back in her car and drive as soon as possible to keep her confidence. Sorry about her bad luck, Leelai.

Thank you Richard!

She is a good and confident driver......so I don't think this will be a problem for her but you never know I guess.

It's just that she has waited so long to be able to afford a car and running costs and she's been so so excited about it all.....she turns 21 next month

And this happens to her......just bad luck....but gees!

So sorry to hear this! That is bad luck. Lets hope it looks stick and span after repairs.

I know exactly how she feels. Just terrible. It was many years ago when I was living in Sydney and had just bought my very first brand new car, a lovely white VW beetle. We went out to dinner, at the Blacktown RSL club to celebrate the purchase. Then in the car park to go home, some low life had backed hard into the door. Enough about me; I know how she feels exactly.

I hear that. No matter the damage - in the owners
mind that ding or dent rubs away some of the magic.

Glad to hear she wasn't injured.

I am new to the "I" world. Got my first iPad two days ago. I would like to know if I need some kind of security software like Vipre downloaded to my iPad?

Thanks Hayley.....It doesn't look that bad, there are a couple of small dints and scratches but the whole back end has moved, the boot pops now and needs to be slammed to close, the locking mechanism only works when it wants and all the panels are out of alignment.

What an awful experience for you! Your first car and new car are special purchases.....in a perfect world, you should get to enjoy that experience for longer than a day. ;)

Yes Admiral, thank goodness she wasn't injured.

She knew it was going to happen as she heard the squeal of brakes.......And she thinks the other driver, a young girl, may have been texting........

No wonder Police here are cracking down on the use of phones whilst driving.......they have been found in the hands of accident victims with the other person still on the line and wondering what has happened.
