TIPS AND TRICKS - for those of us who don't know!

I can't figure out how to use caps lock...

Tap the key once, the arrow turns blue and the next letter will be a capital.

Quickly the key twice, the key turns blue with a white arrow, and you're in caps lock.

Tap the key again to exit caps lock.

Thank you. Also, my screen looks really cool with the white on black turned on and I wanted a pic like this,but when I take a screenshot in reverts back to the normal look when I switch back. Is there anyway to get a picture like this?

Not that I know of.

Well, I suppose you could try taking a picture of it with another camera. ;-)

You don't need to shake your iPad. Just tap on the number/symbol soft button on the keyboard and there will be a undo/redo large softkey.

Is there a shortcut/swipe to get up the keyboard and can it be made smaller?

No, the default keyboard is the size you get. And the only way to bring up the keyboard is to be in a text-entering field.

I think this is a new one, when you are entering mail addresses in the mail ap, if you press & hold the period, you are offerered all manner of short-cut terminators.... (give it a try, you will get my meaning)

Very nice tip. Also, if you simply swipe up on the "." You will get .com. Thanks for the tip that helped me find my tip.

This is day 5 of having my new iPad, and I've just finished reading all these tips. I've cut and pasted, print screened and bookmarked loads of really useful tricks. Hopefully in a few weeks I might be able to add the odd tip myself.

I have a neat tip. I don't know if its been mentioned already, but I don't want to have to read through all 96 pgs, so here it is.
Have you ever been listening to music on your iPad, and then put it to sleep, only to have the music keep playing? You actually don't have to unlock the iPad and open the Music app to pause the music, skip tracks, and adjust the volume via the slider. On the lock screen, tap the home screen twice in rapid succession. Near the top of the screen, where the time and date would normally be displayed, you will now see the music player controls.

I remember when I went through it and it took me quite a time over 2 days and that was over a year ago.

But it's a great read!
