TIPS AND TRICKS - for those of us who don't know!

Does anyone know if there is a projector that will hook up to the ipad so I can give sales presentations?:)

Yes there's loads now. I featured some in my thread "iPad gadgets the endless list". However if you do a good search you can get one for a couple of hundred. But you can alternatively use a regular projector/ tv and a hdmi docking station which has av cables with it too so you can connect to anything available. A cheaper alternative for around £20.

Alright I had been wanting to rearrange the order of my bookmarks and figured it out while reading this thread. While in bookmarks, touch edit, then find the bookmark you want to move and touch and hold the little square on the right with the three lines. Your bookmark will move to whatever place you drag it to.

You can create more folders / libraries to segregate your reads too. Tap where it says books and you can create whatever comes to your fancy.

These two tips are for Safari, I found them by accident

* Reopen a closed tab - long press the plus sign on the right of the tab bar to get a list of closed tabs

* Jump to a previous page - long press the back arrow button on the left of the location/search bar to get a history list for the current tab

If you have a friend who is new to iPhone (or even someone else), you can do a practical joke by taking a snapshot of his home screen, then leaving it on the screen. I did this to my brother... "Hey let me show you what you can do with your new phone..." He hands phone to me. I proceed to take snapshot of his home screen, navigate to camera roll (screen shot I took). Then I hand the phone back to him, saying, "Geez, it didn't seem to work." When he tried to use the "icons", you should have seen his face! He thought I had broken his phone. LOL

Admittedly, I have only read about 60 pages of the 100+ pages here, so please forgive me if this is a repeat.

I use this ALL the time... instead of one-finger pecking at the keyboard or trying to squeeze your giant hands onto the ipad screen to type... try this...

Hold your iPad in the "Portrait" mode and find a text field to activate the keyboard. With the keyboard activated, use your two thumbs to reach to the center of the keyboard and swipe outwards (towards the opposite sides of the iPad) at the same time. The keyboard will "split" into two and now you can type with both thumbs quite easily. (This also works in "Landscape" mode, but I find the stretch just a bit too big in that position.) I have an iPad Mini, and believe me, this tip makes the keyboard 200% easier to use.

If you don't like it, just use your thumbs to "shove" the two pieces of keyboard back together.

I love this feature in landscape mode.

Does anyone know how to copy and paste in Facebook when using a Mac product like iPad, iPhone or MacBook Pro???? When I see a FB post I like, i'd like to copy it and paste it in Notes or Pages, but I can't highlight it, in order to Command C or Control C to copy. Thank you, Colby

You can't do it from the app. I've tried everything I can think of, and there's no way to copy.

However, in Safari, it's easy. This is from my Facebook page. I should paste it into the relevant thread on here.

Today marks the 95th anniversary of the Halifax Explosion. On this day in 1917, the Norwegian supply ship Imo collided with the French munitions ship Mont-Blanc, causing the largest man-made explosion the world had ever seen and killing almost 2,000 people. We take a moment today to remember all those affected by the explosion.

Sent from my iPad using iPF

Just for fun... Activate Siri and ask, "Where can I hide a dead body?" It's fun if you want to show off Siri and get a laugh.

Now that's either scary or funny...
