TIPS AND TRICKS - for those of us who don't know!

If you have a friend who is new to iPhone (or even someone else), you can do a practical joke by taking a snapshot of his home screen, then leaving it on the screen. I did this to my brother... "Hey let me show you what you can do with your new phone..." He hands phone to me. I proceed to take snapshot of his home screen, navigate to camera roll (screen shot I took). Then I hand the phone back to him, saying, "Geez, it didn't seem to work." When he tried to use the "icons", you should have seen his face! He thought I had broken his phone. LOL

That was great. That defiantly had to be funny.

Adding Smiley's;
If you use messages on either your iPad or iPhone and want to add smileys, go to settings>general>keyboards>click add new keyboard then scroll down until you see Emoji, add that one. Now go all the way back and try typing a new message, you will see what looks like a small globe and the bottom next to your keyboard, select it and choose your smiley, swipe to the right for even more! enjoy!

Excellent! Thanks it worked perfectly on both my iPad and iPhone :) However, do you know if the recipients of my messages get these smiles or, do they get J and similar please? Thanks for sharing.

Brilliant! Thanks for this one!

If you'd looked a bit closer in the box you would have seen a card. One side was a picture of the iPad and the various buttons. The other were links and directions on how to get to the manual, minus the dead tree. ;)

Agreed, the card should be harder to overlook.

Guys, the tips and tricks mentioned in nearly all the above posts works fine and they are really helpful if you try to use them on a daily basis. Thanks a lot.

When you connect the ipad to a computer with usb connection it shows that it's not charging. However, I noticed it is still slow charging the battery. Try it.
