I have downloaded a few apps which appear to be on my Mac ( bar at the bottom of screen) however I don't seem to be able to transfer them onto my ipad2. Syncing doesn't work any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum! There are a lot of great people here willing to lend a hand anytime. Often using the search feature (in the toolbar at the top of every page) will lead you to the answers you're looking for. If not, feel free to post a question in the appropriate area.

Please take a moment to view the information linked below my signature to get the most out of your iPad as well as our forum.

With respect to syncing your apps, as Wolfpuppies3 suggests, they have to be iOS apps, Mac apps won't work on the iPad (although there are many of the same apps like Pages or Keynote that are made for the iPad as well). If they're iOS apps for your iPad, do you have them checked on iTunes when you sync? More here:

Syncing and arranging apps from the App Store

BTW, I moved your post to the iPad Help area where you're likely to get a better response to your question.

Welcome again and enjoy!

Hm, you may be confusing the Mac App Store and the App Store in iTunes. At least that sounds like what's going on. Programs for your Mac can be bought in the Mac App Store, they are not compatible with the iPad. For iPad apps you either purchase them using the App Store on the iPad, or by going to the App Store area in iTunes when on the computer.

I recommend purchasing them directly on the iPad.
