A new forest fire has erupted 30 minutes west of our house.


Ministry of Natural Resources water bombers are attacking the flames from the air. 100 fire fighters are working on the ground.

Quite the summer so far.

Hard to believe we are in the same country. We had a rainfall warning issued by Environment Canada calling for 50 mm of rain last night. That's on top of what we already had over the last few weeks. The drought definitely appears to be over in the Prairies.

That sounds like good news, Kevin.

Isn't it amazing how quickly vegetation recovers after a fire, and with plenty of rainfall over a few weeks.
