I'm hoping the stain will enhance it. The strips are oak. The rest of it is Western Red Cedar. It's intended for the deck, and cedar doesn't rot so it should last for years. There's no metal in the construction. Everything is held together with polyurethane glue.

Great idea. We'll christen it with a cookout and a few bottles, then head for the Rockies and do some skiing. It would make for a good weekend. I'll let the wife know a few friends will be dropping by, 224,000 of them.
