We are getting doves and pigeons landing in our trees to pick off berries. It's amazing how those relatively heavy birds don't break branches.

They can't pick off berries in my garden, but I can find them everywhere. On my trees, on my roof, in front of my house...












They don't even fly away when I'm coming nearer.

Aargh, sorry Johanna, it's getting late at night. You'd be surprised at the name errors I've made in the last month or so. You must have used a telephoto setting. Do you use a tripod, as that picture is nice and sharp?

It's the lens I posted some time ago in the Image/picture thread. I didn't use anything except my hands holding the camera, managing to keep still long enough to get that picture.

In my case it's a good camera and an average user.

So true leelai, usually the ships are rusty tankers or bulk carriers. Can you imagine the spectacular sight if they were allowed to pass through under full sail!

That would be a truly spectacular sight! Would love to see them all in full sail.

I've seen many photos but have only ever seen one in real life and it was an amazing experience.

Those are beautiful Roy! We see a few Tall Ships when we get up to Mackinaw Island to see the Racers come in. Your pics are spectacular. Happy Canada Day too!
