What I see in my backyard...

Clermont....love that kangaroo! I've been getting quite a few snaps of them too when out driving. Would love to get that close though!

Richard......the foxes are so cute, love that you've taken photos of the little critters too. Your bees look fluffy!

The bumble bees are a protected species. They do not sting at any time.

@ Richard...great pics of your backyard!! I had some good bumble bee visits this past weekend which I took pics of as well. Couldn't believe how many there were, makes me think not to plant certain flowers so close to where we sit!

@ Scifan...my squirrels have emailed a request for you to send them course info, LOL! :)

@ Clermont...love your pet Kangaroos!

I have had my morning visit by the Doe and her Fawn again...which was the reason for starting this thread in the first place. The Fawn still has its spots, but is getting taller. When I first saw the Fawn it was back July 7, so my guess that the spots will fade soon.

I managed to capture pics of the two of them this morning which I will upload shortly!

They don't sting? Is that unusual....I thought all bees stung.

How about a butterfly? Birds and squirrels are frequent users of this birdbath, but this butterfly was a surprise. (no bees, though I drowned a few wasps in an oriole feeder)

It's not unusual so far as UK bumble bees are concerned. All other types of bee can sting.

You remind me of a story. When I was a small boy, I was interested in a friend's beehive. Dressed in my tropical clothes, I went to investigate the hive. I think I lifted the top of the hive or tried to discover whether bees really stung. When some angry bees appeared, I ran but yes. I got stung a good number of times!

Hopefully my curiosity is tempered with a good measure of caution now! :)

I didn't know that at all!

You were very lucky you weren't allergic to the stings......

When we were kids we used to dare each other to step on them whilst they were in the clover.......amazingly we were hardly ever stung and the bees always just flew away.

Gosh, the things we did as kids!

He sits just off our back steps, or sleeps near them I the shade of the tanks......he seems to be getting more and more friendlier.....very cautious but, they have been known to attack...

Oh my, that's not good. I have a friend who is the same way and he must carry an epipen with him everywhere, just in case.

I hope he never gets stung!
