What's new

What I see in my backyard...

Finally--the snow has arrived and collected. We are suppose to have more come in until 11am than the sun will come out.

It is definitely a start. Our plans to move the patio furniture was a bit delayed as you know...so that will be moved soon. We have half of our lights up, but Ron wants to get some more up when he has time! Will post those soon...of course it will be backyard scenes!

Hi Skimonkey,

I took the photos in the morning after the overnight rain. It started raining again late this afternoon.

At least you had a little break before the rain came again...the sun never came out here. It was very drizzly, grey out today.

I may have a hundred birds in my backyard right now. Most are pine siskens, but a few of the regulars are challenging them at the feeders. The cardinals wait for a blue jay to chase them away, but the woodpeckers come on in. Some goldfinches are part of the flock and house finches seem to be too. A new bird for me is this common redpoll.

And the neighborhood black squirrel paid a visit.

I'm afraid I won't see any of these wonderful images out back, here is my view

What is the view like at sunrise or sunset, zstairlessone?

Aahhh, I will see if one of our good ones come in tonight. In the desert when the wind kicks up a small dust storm the sunsets make it a great day. Here are the mountains to the west from upstairs

The common redpoil is a beautiful bird, czveski. Love the black squirrel contrast to the white snow.
