I've been invaded by pine siskens. All my feeders and the ground had them.

They almost look like little chickadees.

BTW--I like your avatar, czevski!

The pine siskens are most like winter-dressed goldfinches. Here's a picture with both in it. The pine siskens have stripes and the goldfinches don't.

Your property, populated by so many different types of birds, must feel like a wonderland to you. So peaceful and calming. Thanks for including us.

Love that holiday seed ball, Czevski!

Thank you for sharing your fabulous photographs of those garden visitors, Czevski. I always enjoy the images which must be the result of lots of patience.

Richard, what is your avatar pix?

Hi Linda. It's a small timber framed building under construction. I loved seeing the skeleton oak framing :)

Well, in the front yard, an occasional visitor, i.e. Red-Shouldered Hawk - my pic (right) from inside the house - another image from the web (left) showing a much better close-up of this beautiful raptor! Average length about 18 inches w/ a 3 1/2 ft. wingspan - diet consists of reptiles, amphibians, large insects, & small birds - for those visiting North Carolina, the Carolina Raptor Center is worth a stop (just north of Charlotte off I-77). :)

I have a hawk that likes to scare my cockatiels once in a while too.

I can understand how your cockatiels feel a bit uneasy with a hawk flying overhead. I would be nervous, too!

That's beautiful. Was this in between the rain all the rain the UK is getting right now?
