What's new

What I see in my backyard...

It looks like not much of a sunset tonight. The storm is roiling in the mountains and racing into the valley. Here is a quick look at how fast

My upstairs back window is probably within 10 feet of 2500'. This end of the San Gabriel mts gets up to a little over 6500 feet based on how high I've been with a GPS. To the west are the much shorter Tehachapi mountains still over 6000'.

Much lower than Colorado where the town was at roughly 7200' and the mountains went up from there well above 10,000' (quite a few above 14000' and tons above 13000')

Looks like it cleared up just enough... Just took this one

Quite fantastic how that weather system blew in and out so fast. You've got a wonderful view of the world.
Please continue sharing it with us. :)

Zstairlessone,

Sounds like I'm just up the road from you, I'm out in Riverside, where are you?

Just over the hill and across the valley in Lancaster/Palmdale/Quartz Hill. We're almost neighbors.

Howdy neighbor! I guess you could say I see YOU in my back yard. When I look out my kitchen window it points in your direction :-)

Great shots Richard!

I almost had a great shot of a brown squirrel that climbed up on our bird feeder, though wasn't quick enough.
