Geminids! Bundled up and sat on the deck for an hour, saw about twenty good meteors. Probably missed three times that many because it's not all that are in my suburban yard.

We heard this little fella in the bush and couldn't believe when he just came out in front of us and went on his way.

It's the same here, sunny and temps rising to 40 degrees. No chance of snow today!

Just had 2 deer in our backyard, bedded down. They are so cute looking. Hubbie threw an apple core out back and the young one went to it fast!

Is that a sign for pending future weather if that's the case?

Your echidna looks like a porcupine / hedgehog. Great photos again, Leelai.

Yes they do look like those animals.....I guess they may be related, I'm not sure.

Also saw these cute little koalas

It was high on my list to see some koalas on our trip.....I finally spotted a couple and I was so excited but they were so high up. Drove on another 5 minutes and couldn't believe how many there were in the area and how low they were sitting......I counted about 40 and that was standing in the 1 spot and scanning the trees!

It's a great feeling to know they are out there and in such good numbers especially as this area was devastated by fires a number of years ago and so much wildlife perished.

That's awesome that you saw them on your trip. When we went out to San Diego-we spent a day at the zoo. I must have spent 2 hours watching the koalas-just love how they look. I am just fascinated with them! Did you take these with a camera or your iPhone ?

I don't think they're related. Echidnas lay eggs, porcupines don't.
