What I see in my backyard...

Gosh Richard.....just love your pod! I would love one of those but it would be a sauna here.

I'm going to go searching!

Thanks Leelai. Yes I expect you need something with openable windows to let the breeze through.

How is the seating, is it attached to the outer shell? And does it rotate all the way around?

Hubby's cousin in Adelaide built a glass conservatory onto the back of their home.....they could only use it in winter as it got too hot for them. That is until they had it redone with windows all around the top for ventilation and had an electric awning which came out over the top of it. Certainly was such a lovely area though.

I would just love something like that in my yard!

The seating is on a frame attached to the framework. The table can be taken out. The whole thing can be rotated through 360°.
The next one up on size has a table which can be adjusted down to the level of the sets to form a bed. The seat cushions are strong vinyl rather like car seating. The seat backs are scatter cushions which rest against the shell.

That sounds real cosy. Now, a little table arrangement in the centre, ice bucket for a nice bottle of sauvignon blanc and a couple of glasses, and the stars overhead of a nice evening. I think you have the right idea Richard:)

Well, the landing went very well. It was smooth, and we now have .....

Our garden seating pod. I call it the garden escape pod. It was a nice touch down, AA.

<img src="http://www.ipadforums.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=40226"/>

But did you have to leave the mother ship on such close orbit :D

Looks like the seat's plenty strong for a full complement of people.
How is it fastened down? I wouldn't want to see it rolling across the yard in a strong wind.

Thanks Richard.....I even looked them up. There are 2 larger ones, the largest doesn't rotate though, but it's quite big.

I just love the whole idea of it......I can imagine you in there with your iPad all warm and cosy. How nice!

The wifi reaches the pod. So, I've managed to post from there.

The Pimms and a bottle or two of wine are sure to be consumed there before Monday. :)

It has 4 hold down bolts set into the paving. Talk about rolling....

Wow--Richard, I have never seen a garden pod!! That looks like wonderful to be in during the morning listening to the birds chirp and having your cup of coffee! Just beautiful!! :)

Thanks Ski. We love it, and used it for a few hours yesterday as you imagined. It's great to get away from the radio and TV and to read and enjoy the garden and garden visitors.

My wife was delighted as she could snooze with her feet warmed by the sunshine and her head in shadow.
