What's new

What other Apple products do you own?

I'm VERY new to apple stuff beside my 5th gen nano. I just brought a 13" Macbook Pro for my Son last week. Since I've been a Blackberry/PC guy forever, my Son says he's gonna convert me. :D And you know what, the more he shows me, the more I like it. :p

And since I'm a long time Verizon customer, I can't wait to get the 4G Verizon iPhone, if I don't like it I can always go crackberry again. ;)

Once you go Mac, you'll never go back!

Here's an example, I am doing a migration to my new iMac today so I pulled out my 5 year old Mac Mini and it works like a champ! No glitches, runs great and I would never think of selling it because we have a bond and it just continues to work well - now try that with an 5 year old PC that's been in the closet!

ipod touch 1st & 2nd gen
nano 1st & 2nd gen
ipod classic
shuffle 2nd gen
24" imac w/wireless keyboard & magic mouse (love it!)
17" macbook pro
time capsule w/backup & wi fi

Congratulations You are right easy to use no virus attacks and all works without hassle even works better with Iphone ipad and also Apple TV which I also own. Guess I am biased Have been with Apple since 1978 and a specialist reseller since 1993 But you are so right enjoy the technology and Apple imac its the right choice..... col down under

my thing is this my laptop was hacked last weekend at fedex when hooked up to there system network working on a personal project and they came in and took about 70 gbs of info off the hard drive ..for they took medical files and personal photos and files from work and personals files of somethings i have and use as updated working program for the home and work inventroy programs

one of the programs they got into was my bad weather survival supplies ..for years i bounced all round the gulf of mexico in the states and lived in coast area of texas for a couple of years and i learned that bad weather down there is a killer without the propler supplies on hand to deal with the weather and storms that the gulf can bring down on you and they took that list along with some other food supplies list i had for the house pantry for i am LDS and we keep a year supply of food in the house and i keep a rotateing stock supply to feed me as it need and i up dated as it need and make up dates on a home inventory program i have on the desktop version of the smart phone app i have ....so ask me why was i not minding the store when i was off doing the faxing about the landscapeing of the home i have in the southwest. for the landscape was spending me pictures via email and i would print them out and fax them back with notes writen on the side about each one takeing one part of the drawing and adding it to the other we came up with the final landscape drawing and that the one i went with and it going to look really nice in the end when all said and done ...

i was not really watching the screen along with i was just watching to make sure the laptop did not wander off with someone takeing it ..my personal protable printer at that time it took a du-- on me and i was not thinking about going out and spending another $.300 dollars on a protable printer unit ..,,

when made a coment about buying a mac in the near future for i never had heard of a mac getting hacked and things stolen off the hard drive on another forum i get this guy telling me that macs are so easly hacked that it a joke in the computer security world .. ..the guy posted that the macs are hacked all the times and there security system is so easly to bypass it not funny and they say it the least secured system ..at a major security software show he was saying that the hackers that they had at the show broke the mac os system in less than 10 mins and was hacking there way through the person harddrive and stealing info from the harddrive..

he was trying to tell everyone that windows n7 and google chorme are the two hardest to beat when put togerther as the best security system that there is now ....

i never heard of a mac beening hacked in all this years ..

I have been selling high end Mac Systems for 20 years as a specialist reseller and since osx came out not one of more than 700 sites I have supported have had virus attacks or had any hacking at any time The number of Macintosh computers total is more than 3000 Further more NON of the sites have virus software installed. All the sites have either firewalls as part of routers installed.

Prior to that OS9 had worm viruses which did cause problems which we corrected with software at that time.

The unix OS is solid so I do not have much faith in your so called friend you met. The largest site I service has 40 Macs installed with 2 apple xserves

regards colin:)

I had a friend with a Lotus almost exactly like that. I want to say it was the Alpine edition or something like that. He put larger turbos on it and it was a screamer!

Never heard of an Alpine edition, the car in the picture (which I still own) is a 25th anniversary edition. If he put larger turbos in it then he would have had to have installed an inter-cooler and beefed up the Renault transmission or he wouldn't have been going fast for long.

Hmmm maybe it was the 25th Anniversary! I think he did the intercooler, but no transmission. He pretty much doubled the hp and never had any issues. No one believe him on the Lotus board but I drove it and raced him and I think it ran low 12's on street tires. I will find a video and dyno numbers for you.
