I hope they never change it back. It's entertaining watching all the whiners squirm.

Mortified??? You do realize that the iPad still has a screen orientation lock, right?
LMAO!! That was great. Mortified?? LOL!! OMG. Seriously. I simply can't stop laughing. I am def going loopy.
And he thinks that he has to read sideways forever and a day.
Oh shitums. Drink. Scott. Now.![]()
It is really not that funny, and considered to be a major problem by many people. For me its a complete deal breaker, which is why I am still on iOS 3.2 (at least until an untethered JB is out).

The new purpose of the switch is to mute ring-tones, while still letting you hear your apps. It's set up that way for phone use. Oh, wait, the iPad isn't a phone. Yeah, you'd think Apple would know that.

You can't seriously believe that. Apple forced all of the app developers to make their apps 4.2 compatible, which means that keeping your apps current and working properly will require updating. Any problem you have while running 3.2 at this point is going to be met with one answer from Apple support: update.
And sure, you can add it with a jailbreak, but if you have any problems, Apple's response will be "restore it to factory config." You're back where you started.
So, you do it Apple's way or you're on your own and out $500 if anything goes wrong. But that's not forcing you.![]()
From reading the threads here, I would have to say that very few people actually back up their data!...but before reverting back to Apple's iOS, you'd back up your data, as everyone does before moving from one OS to another.
While I applaud your effort in trying to explain... You really cannot reason with anyone who is acting out of emotion, not logic. And yes. I can seriously believe that, because it's true. Walk into any Apple store and make an appt. at an Apple Genius Bar if you wish to confirm.
