I'm seriously considering buying a new iPad Air to replace my creaking iPad2. I recall one or two of you did something similar in the past. I understand reasonably well, the physical process of moving the content but does it really work for all the data within an app/game such as airport city and Tribez?
I wondered whether the dreaded GI needed to be involved...which could put me off taking the plunge.
I'd hate to lose all my game progress.
Did anyone do the transfer of data via the "cloud", or is it recommended to use a PC and iTunes?
Finally, does the transfer process stop you from using the same apps/data on the old device? I don't expect that you can share the game and play on both platforms (I don't want to, but I just wondered how this part works in practice).

I have done it via iCloud, but I'd recommend giving other apps a chance first, by keeping AC paused, because when too may apps try to download at the same time, the download of some apps often get terminated. I don't know if this is also the case for iTunes backup.

No, it doesn't give you the option to select the apps priority-wise. When AC starts downloading, you can pause the download by tapping on the icon. (ONLY WHEN THE CIRCLE APPEARS).

When I had first backed up in this way, some apps including AC had not been installed, so had to do it all over again.
