Especially love the Egyptian blocks....is that room made up of them

That fossil is just amazing!!

The Egyptian blocks are from an actual tomb in Egypt. The tomb was disassembled, transported to Chicago and reassembled at the Field Museum.

Was the tomb one that would have otherwise been drowned by the lake behind the Aswan Dam?

Thank you again for these photos, Scifan. Our niece, who is with us next week, loves Egyptology and will appreciate these. She intends to study archaeology.

No, it comes from another area and was brought over from Egypt long before that. The underground portions of the tomb, including the unexcavated burial chamber are still safe in Egypt.
