These views into London, of Canary Wharf skyscrapers, and views further East and South. I took these from the Orbit viewing platforms at the Olympic park in Stratford.

Here are some views of the Chicago Tribune building, it's lobby and some of the many stones from historic buildings that are set into the outer walls.

Here are two photos of Navy Pier in Chicago, taken just before I had to leave for the airport.
Navy Pier is the home of the Chicago Children's Museum.

Architecture, or the soon to be lack of it. The continuing demolition of my neighborhood grocery store, which remains open, while replacing it with a new building.

It looks rather grand, Scifan. So the commercial artist is doing a good job ;)

Our local casino.

<img src="http://www.ipadforums.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=24972"/>Located in the former railroad station.

That almost looks Soviet era. Imagine a sprinkling of GAZ and ZIL trucks and sedans in the foreground and you can hear the Song Of The Volga Boatmen.

Ottawa may get a government managed Casino soon.

Will your grocery store have a grand opening once it's finished? Those are always fun to go to...they usually have nice sampling of food!! :)

I believe so, although it will be next summer or fall before the work is done. There has been no announcement about it.

Major work on the Federal courthouse in Regina. The entire front is tented to allow work to proceed throughout the winter months.

Yesterday, I managed to visit Hyde Park Corner to see and photograph the various war memorials. Our guest, Tim, came along with me. He commented that the place is reminiscent of the memorial drive in Washington.

There are numerous war memorials at Hyde Park Corner. It's a place for thought. My photographs ...

Looking eastwards towards Birdcage Walk. The metal posts between Wellington Arch and the Duke of Wellington statue are the New Zealand war memorial.

The Bomber Command war memorial. There was a crowd there paying respects. The roof metal comes from a Halifax bomber donated by the Bomber Command museum in Canada.
