I just figured out what the "marathon" means. You know after every five days you get a ruby. Well now there are more days and more presents!

Well i just placed 10th after producing 2 tomatoes, picture was of sawdust though. Tomatoes - since when do we have tomatoes.

If you can no longer give and receive tools from friends then how the hell can anyone complete tasks like the Eiffel Tower or Bridge where you need those items. It's not even possible to purchase them even if you wanted to

I think I can answer my own question, I believe you will now receive tools as part of the reward for playing daily. A question for GI as I am sure they read these threads, if you are going to make sweeping changes to the game why not use the blog to explain them and the rationale behind the decision.
Also, one of the next stages in my quest to complete the Eiffel Tower is to get 30 drills from friends. Fortunately, I have plenty in storage - but if I didn't, how long would it take to accumulate 30 drills via the daily marathon, and how would that square with the deadline for completing the Eiffel Tower?
I don't think there's much thinking going on at GI these days, there's seemingly no logic to these random changes. But perhaps this is what we should expect from a company that asks us to produce "tomatoes" that look like sawdust!

Well I seem to remember seeing trowels as part of today's reward so will soon find out. Might be dependant on how many friends you have or how active in the game that day. Better be more than 1 though. Don't know about any one else but I always sent out the full 10 gifts each day (never got 10 back though).
