While we have a quiet time with the game I was wondering if anyone else has upgraded a baseball court to level 2 and found that as well as the required hammers etc they were charged coins. I also suspect it was counted as a new building but am not certain.

I am still playing, I jumped from 47 to 26th place for experience and down to 8th place from 15th for precision. Looks like about 20 of the top players including Mockba are reset.

The strange thing is mockba and Russian world etc still show at the top of some charts such as friends but not others. How the hell does Russian world have over 5000 friends by the way and why is he allowed to build on the second island without the underwater tunnel

Apparently there is a restore feature now according to some of the comments on the Facebook page. Has anyone tried that out? Any success stories out there?

All of my restore options were of the game from level 1. None of them were from my game when I was at level 39

Good luck everyone, hope all your cities come back as before. My game wasn't affected but I still used one of their saves. Still ok. Touch wood

So their "restore" feature is pretty much worthless, eh?! Typical GI! My only hope is that somewhere on their servers, they have game progress data saved and that in due course they will be able to restore that. Someone in that thread also talked about restoring the iPad and that seems to have fixed the problem. But I am afraid to do that in fear of losing my game data that might still be on the device permanently. I think the best course of action for now is to just sit tight and wait for a confirmed solution before I start messing with stuff.

I am going to find some creative ways to spend my winter evenings now with no game to play. It is amazing how much spare time I had yesterday by not playing the game

So I'm reading from the comments that there is a 5 attempt limit on the restore option. Just wanted to pass this little tidbit along in case some of you try to restore over and over

A couple of people are reporting success with the restore feature. Here is one success story. I don't have my iPad with me at work. Any brave souls out there want to test this out to see if it works?

EDIT: one user reported that he restored, got his old city back, closed the game and when he restarted he was back to a new game. So this whole thing seems to be yet another GI crapshoot!

"Restart the game, the restore window should automatically pop up. Scroll to the right until you find your last level before the crash. Should take a few seconds, but my city reappeared. Just don't touch the links for the building sales on the right!!!! It will crash and start over again!"

"If you are using an iPad, try closing from multitask bar then turn off and back on iPad. I did that now back to my old game. But yeah when do we get the 50 city credits and other useful game items"

Not sure exactly how all this is working, but some of the comments state that the restore feature should pop up a few times each time you load you game. Maybe try killing the app, restarting the iPad etc...?

Hi, have you scrolled across on the restore box. The first few on mine were for level one, then I had options to load my game from 1970(?). Then I have options to load my proper game. I have loaded my level 41 game, and all seems to be well so far..........

I have lost a few hours, so ill have to do those things again, but I'm quite please about getting fifty free credits, as I never pay to play, and it takes me ages to accumulate credits.

UPDATE

As of 15 minutes ago, GI flashed a "restore point" screen in my game. I was given 5 chances to choose a restoration point. I messed up the first 3 because I did not factor in the time/date differences. Got it on the 4th attempt.

My city is restored, though I did lose about 3 days of work. Better than nothing. GI responded to my ticket within 24 hours which I think is admirable. All in all, I am pretty satisfied. I hope all my BB friends, and friends-to-be, will have their games restored very soon.

I never backed up my game with iTunes. GI has got their auto-save points. I depended on those to get back on my feet. I am sure everybody will be back where they were (plus and minus a couple of days) very soon.

Hi all. When the restore window pops up, you have to scroll to the right. Your most recent game to load Will be most likely the last one. Worked for me. Gtrz

Good to hear that the restore is actually working for some. For those of you that it has worked for, have you tried to 'kick the tires' and try shutting down, killing the app, rebooting your device etc...? I heard from some people that it restored their game but then when they restarted the app, it set them back to Level 1. I hate that I didn't bring my pad with me to work. I almost want to take a half-day and go back home to test this out! LOL! Yeah, call me an addict
