I've only received an anchor a few times helping other people. Guess it is another random aspect.
My next boat needs both ore and thickener which I can't do so I won't put it out for help unless someone asks me to. Working on sushi for Juliana.

To follow up on gab's comment, I would prefer the easier or medium items over helping with the heavy lifting like thickener or lipstick if you do not have plans to finish out a ship.

If I know I'm not going to finish a ship, I usually open up the containers that are worth the most money...but your plans sounds legit too.
