I would first try to delete the game but make sure you keep on gamecenter. Then do a hard reboot. Hold down power button and home button at same time until you see the apple logo. Then reinstall DV. Hope this helps...

When you go to delete the game it will ask if you want to "keep" it on gamecenter. Press the "keep" button I think it is.

Have you done the latest update? Do you see snow on the ground? If not do the latest update first and see if that works. If not you can do what I said earlier and hopefully that will fix it. It automatically saves it to gamecenter so as long as you "keep" it on gamecenter when it asks you will automatically have your progress when reinstalling the game and opening it.

Michelin...I know your probably sleeping but I keep forgetting to tell you instead of rebooting your phone a quicker way may be to double click the home button and you will see all the icons at the bottom. Hold one until it gets the minus sign and click it. These are things that re running in the background and taking up resources. It will also reload the game so new friends should show up that way and a lot faster than turning off and on the phone/ipad. Let me know if it works for you. I do this once every few days and close them all so my device will run better/faster or when trying to see if I can gift gems yet.
