What's new

Food anyone?

They look lovely Richard. Unfortunately after a visit to the asthma nurse, I have to lose some weight, sigh! I hate diets! Stamping my foot and sucking my thumb!

Sent from my one and only original iPad using iPF

Having fresh, hot bread just out of the oven, with a nice, stinky cheese. Yum. Best part is, can hold in one hand and have my other free for iPad.

Awesome and yummy, KayKayKay!! Just had a handful of Cheezits, my downfall!! It is getting to be that time to have some lunch!!

My husband used to love Cheez-Its. When we lived overseas and could get them only sporadically, he'd hoard them. We have a photo of him from back then, all gleeful with a fresh armload of Cheez-It boxes.

Cheez Whiz was a staple too, but expensive. We'd have one or the other (Velveeta) but never buy both at the same time. At least that's what I remember.

To dress it up my mother would add sweet pickle slices. So it was important to put cheez whiz on both pieces of bread (Wonder) of course, otherwise the juice from the pickles would make the sandwich soggy.

But the real treat of Cheez Whiz was the empty jar. Back in the day the jar was tapered at the bottom, which looked cool. I'd keep the empties to store my marbles.

I'm not sure I've ever tried Cheez Whiz or Velveeta. Did / do people eat them because they're cheaper or keep longer than cheese?

Are they like the cheese product that comes in those little snack cracker packs?

I remember those bottles!! That is funny you mention putting marbles in them...I did too!!

KayKayKay-I think the cheese did taste like the packs with the crackers and the plastic little stick!! Haven't had any of the above in a long time, but I still see it at the grocery store!!

Yes pretty much the same stuff. I don't buy Cheez Whiz now because it's bad news for old arteries. It's also expensive if you take quality into account instead of quantity.

That explains everything.....we didn't have Cheez Whiz and everyone I know says that I have lost my marbles!
