What's new

Food anyone?

Huh! I love milk chocs. I love strawberry fillings, caramel, orange and lemon. Lime is nice too! I love fudge!

My big problem is people like you who love milk chocolate!. There are many more of you Milkies than us Plainsters, so we can't win...:-(
If you substitute the choc, then I'm with you all the way with the fillings. Preferably soft & runny, or fondant.. All you said plus...tada! Coffee! And Mint. Oh and yes to fudge!
i forgot cherry. And apricot. You don't often get that but Thornton's used to do a very good plain choc with apricot cream, sold loose with others that you could pick & mix. They don't do that any more :-(

I forgot to mention that I love dark choc with these fillings. I just don't eat dark chocolate on its own by choice.

That changes things a bit! I forgive you.

Anyone remember rhubarb & custard sweets? I ordered some of these from a website recently which specialises in the old trad things you can't find easily any more. These were uncanny--- they do taste exactly like rhubarb & custard in sweet ("candy") form. Many other things listed that I had forgotten all about. Aniseed balls... Sherbet dips... Flying saucers...liquorice comfits...Just like being back in ye olde tucke shoppe!

My husband went to the vet earlier & came back with a big bag of "pretzels". Never tasted them before. Expected them to taste like twiglet's but no, they are v. salty but rather tasty. There was a news report about George Bush choking on one, seem to remember?

No certainly not, the salt wouldn't be good for them. The vet just happened to be where he was due to go as well as the shop for some strawberries. Pretzels weren't the only surprise when he got back!

This is what we sometimes face when we want to answer the door: there are three if you check!

Sorry, this was intended to be a food subject but I got interrupted halfway...
Any treats that get offered (rarely) have to be meticulously divided into one for each. Not pretzels but, say, an apple core (we are so generous!) has to be cut into whatever the no. Is and must be seen to be given out fairly.
