What's new

Food anyone?

Had dinner at Jamie's Italain on Monday at West Fields in Shepherds Bush, West London. It was my first time and highly recommended it.

I wouldn't be able to resist either of them......so I'd have both!

Lol.

Ended up with Chinese for breakfast. Caesar salad and a bunch of desserts for lunch (shared coconut cake, fresh fruit tart, creme brûlée and lemon tart). Fried chicken and pickled beets for dinner.

Kaykaykay--we have similar doughnuts like the one you posted--however, ours are served with a sprinkle of sugar all around it. It is also long, but twisted into a figure 8. Oh, they are delicious--loved when my mom and aunt would make it. I use to make it a lot when I was younger, but really can't make it part of a healthy diet!

Thanks for bringing food memories for me! Sorry I didn't see it earlier! :)

Yum. The long Chinese-style ones remind me of beignets, minus the sugar. There's a slightly more doughy Chinese version as well, which is covered in sugar and served as a dessert.

That's just so unfair, you are making me seriously hungry and everywhere is closed!

I just had a food joy moment, when I remembered that I have yummies in the house. In this case, it's plantain chips. I just need them to levitate from the pantry into my hot little hands.

Dinner, homemade meatballs and gravy, with Amish noodles (sent by an Amish friend) and a salad.

A piece of homemade Grasshopper Pie for dessert.

Last night we had home made lasagne with a splash of mango chilli sauce mixed in. The dish had a lovely kick to it :)
