What's new

Food anyone?

Pulled pork, barbecue chicken, asparagus, and jalapeño mac and cheese, with beer.

There is a cafe just to the south of Holborn Circus in London, opposite St Andews church, it does the most amazing pulled pork dishes so if you happen to be in London at all it's well worth a visit.

I'm intrigued. What is pulled pork? I'm imagining a nice slow-simmered pork hock with some bacon bones and then with the meat shredded with a fork, the way I do it.

That is exactly it, I think it's roasted rather than simmered but I'm always the wrong side of the counter to tell how they cook it!

Nice with a pea soup or on sauerkraut with mashed potato and maybe some Italian crusty bread. For me roast pork is from the oven and it's the crackling. Oh yeah!

Will keep that in mind if ever in London with a pulled pork craving, but usually I try to eat what's best in the country I'm in. What's the name of the restaurant please.

I love barbecue and have had it in many cultures and places. My favorite is on the Texas barbecue trail:

It's called Eatsies, not the best name I've ever come across and if you didn't know about the place you would probably walk straight past but the food, especially the Mexican/carvery sections are fantastic and the pecan pie is wonderful.

Will make a note. (I've got eating notes for many cities, just in case, lol.)
