What's new

Gardening!

With the amount of snow we have had here in the States...I am wondering if I'll start my gardening in July-August time frame. March is beginning to be a repeat of February with ongoing below zero Temps through the area. Over 95% of the Great Lakes are frozen now because of the extreme cold, which is great for our lakes...but it'll take months for everything to thaw. Or at least it will seem that way.

Oh well. I guess I'll continue to look at Garden Magazines for now to satisfy my garden needs. :(

We are having some nice weather at the moment and we had some new fencing erected, We took out some huge trees this week that were past their best and looking a mess, It's been really hard work but now it's starting to look nice, still lots to do though and I ache everywhere, This weekend is supposed to be lovely so it may just get finished.....Going to treat myself to a new garden bench too.

Oh I envy you right now. By the looks of it, we won't be able to get to our Christmas Ornaments that are frozen to the ground in our lawn until maybe April. We just never had a chance to remove it because of the constant snow fall we have had since December 14th.

There was a glimmer of hope last Tuesday when the temps went up to 35 degrees. Things began to melt and we were actually able to see tufts of grass in our backyard. That was promising, but than we got hammered again with 5 inches of snow the following day. Old man Winter is here to stay for a while more I am afraid to say.

Just love to hear about the garden bench. That would be nice to have..to sit and have a cocktail, enjoy the lovely view of your garden. Take pictures when you can, Ivy! :)

yes I will, It's more likely to be a nice cup of tea though, Your winter is really lingering, hope you get a thaw soon.

It's been a very long winter for us indeed. For many Southern States that hardly see a dusting, they too have been walloped by Old Man Winter. Tea sounds good to me!

This is the garden bench I'm thinking of buying, its made from FSC Hardwood which means the wood is responsibly sourced.

There is still snow in my garden but it's going to be 60° here today. Of course it's going back down to 27 on Thursday and maybe snow. Will winter ever be over?

Not soon enough. A storm that started in Kansas will push across Lake Ontario tonight bringing as much as 25 centimetres of snow to parts of eastern Ontario.
