I have a little system that is somehow working for me with balancing the raw fish and lobster. I don't know how I got to this point, but I was trying for a long time to figure a way to almost always have enough of both, not masses, but enough.
I do have my lobster pool upgraded to 6, that may be the only difference. Oh, and you can now increase the size of your tackle box with silo items, so great news for all those not upgrading silos anymore, something to use those materials on. I upgraded mine to just 35. My net maker and lure bench only have three slots each.
Now, I have no idea how I'm gonna even try to make sense of this little strategy in words, because I can't even really fathom how I established it to begin with, so it's gonna sound ever so confusing, but I wanna try explaining.. even if I fail miserably, lol.
This is how I have somehow managed to steadily balance my raw lobster and fish fillet stock..
I sort of rotate the use of the lake between fish and lobster. I'd personally start with fish since we have more products that require it, I think.
First you'll need either 8 fishing nets if you're starting with fish, or 6 lobster pots if you want to do lobster first. Actually, you only need the same amount of lobster pots as you have spaces in your lobster pool because you can't harvest more than you can hold.
For fish, dump in the 8 nets, takes 20+ hours for them to get full, it'll give you time to make lobster pots and lures.
8 full fish nets should give up to 24 fish fillets. While they've been soaking I've made lobster pots. Once I yank the nets out, I start dumping in my lobster pots (the same amount as I have slots in my lobster pool, so six at a time for me). While the lobster pot soaks, I fish the unused lake spots with lures at every opportunity, always slowly topping up the fish stock in the barn, or beginning to replenish it if I ran out. I do run out, so this isn't foolproof, lol.
If you wanted to do lobster first, just throw in the lobster pots as soon as you have made the same amount as the slots you have in your lobster pool, that's all you can harvest/store, so no point wasting lake spots with extras that'll just sit there in captivity watching you boil the life out of the ones you just caught, lol.
Anyway, throw the lobster pots in the lake, fish the unused spots of the lake with lures whenever you can, repeat the lobster soak, haul and pot production until you have enough to concentrate on fish and at this point you'll need to have produced 8 fishing nets.
I produce fishing nets overnight, or as soon as I have enough pots for another lobster cycle or two, then I'll make a fishing nets. I follow that pattern with making fishing nets, always, until I have 8 and then I fish them. I make lobster pots during the day. You'll find your own system that works.
Useless information: I mass produce green lures these days, simply because I'm not chasing the rare fish right now, plus the green lures take less time to produce than red, and there's no fear of running out of green vouchers. If I'm in a lure hurry, I sometimes use blue or pink lures to save time.
I found that once I've done one fish net cycle, plus what the lures yield between lobster hauls, which you're going to have to repeat maybe three or four times to build up your lobster stock initially (once there, just maintain as you go), I feel kind of like I'm set up, I don't run out of fish fillets while building up lobster. So from then I just maintain the stock rather than chasing it all the time.
When lobster stock is healthy, I do another 8 net fishing session, nice new fish stock in the barn. During which, I build more lobster pots, always be making lures, fishing nets at night until you have 8, during which time you'll be restocking your lobster.. lather, rinse repeat..
I don't know if that makes any sense at all. I keep reading it over and confusing myself even further, but I will say that it was with good intention that I bored you to death with this nonsense. lol :O :-(
