What's new

If you are new, please post an introduction thread.

Hi. Minotaur is here in the middle of England.
Retired mechanical engineer/ designer/ draughtsman ("drafter" to those on the left side of the pond).
I've used computers since 1979, PCs since 1984 and my 16GB WifFi iPad2 since my 65th birthday which was last week.
Being a "nuts & bolts" person, I hate not being able to see what's going on inside it but I'm sure we'll get around that. :-)

BTW, "PCs ... can become obsolete almost overnight" is most definitely not true.

It's likely that an incorrect PIN (personal identification number) was entered into the iPad, too many times, causing the SIM card to deactivate.

The good news is it's
a layer of security that protects you. It stops a thief or unauthorized person from guessing the PIN number to gain access to your iPad.

More good news. Your service provider has the "unlock code."

The not so good news is, depending on the service provider and the plan you've purchased, there may be a nominal charge to unlock the SIM. If you're lucky,
the rep may be tuned to customer service and give you a "goodwill" unlock.

Please let the forum know how this is resolved as your experience may help other members.

Hello, everyone. I have a iPad 3 and an iPhone 4S . But I know little about iOS . I am here to learn from you guys. Thank you very much!

Hi Everyone,

My name is Dee Marie. Although I've worked with computers for years, I thought owning an iPad would be a waste of time, and that I would never get enough use out of a Tablet to make it worth my time. That is, until last year, when one of the software giant's "loaned" me an iPad, as I write reviews for their software ... and they had several new iPad apps that they wanted me to review. Much to my surprise, I fell in love with the iPad at first touch.

This past December I purchased my own iPad 2 ... now, I cannot imagine life without my Tablet. I take it everywhere. Although I originally purchased it to write app reviews, I now use it to read novels, play games, and of course do quick web searches.

I stumbled upon the iPad Forum while searching for information on an iPad game. I enjoyed the site and community so much that I had to join in the fun. I look forward to getting to know the Forum members.

Sincerely,
Dee Marie

Finding I want to learn more about other applications for my iPad 3 and figure this is the place to do it. I'm 61, retired from teaching, finally have some free time. Spend a lot go time on the iPad but want to do more than photography, games, Internet searches and email.
