Aloha! Santa brought my family an iPad for Christmas. I'm glad, because I sure wouldn't pay $650 for one! ;)
Anyway, it is good to see a friendly looking forum to help a newbie learn his way around.

Santa must have been xtra generous this year. He brought me one too!

Hi all, I just bought my first ipad: an ipad 2 with wi-fi only. This is my first usage of Apple and OS (apart from ipods).

I mainly bought it to see what the fuss was about and also to use a (rather expensive) control for my media PC/TV set up (using the XBMC Commander app)

Two areas I will be posting questions on shortly are to do with:

1. iTunes - as I only seem to have the storefront

2. Using the ipad to wirelessly mirror my ipad to the TV (from what I can see, this is a big area - and also requires an Apple TV bit of kit).

Welcome to iPF John.

We're a family friendly site to socialise with fellow

Hello,
I have owned my 32 GB IPAD 2 since August 2011. I am addicted to Crime City and Monster Quest by Funzio/Gree.
Biggest regret not buying the 64GB version. I cannot justify a new one just for the 64 GB and a retina display, so I bought 2 Kindle Fire HD's at Christmas. One for him and one for me.

Hi All,

I do not know what an ISlate is, I'm guessing it is this forum. My interests are to learn how to use technology better. I spend deveral hours a day on my IPad (3?), iphone and Windows PC. My hobbies include research, travel and cooking.

Best.

Hi there and welcome.

Islateforums.net is an alternative URL for ipadforums.net but we don't often hear it called that these days, but we are glad that you are here whatever you wish to call it.
