Hi and welcome to the Forum. Have you tried a restart at all, bring up your multitasking bar by either double pressing the home button or doing the 4finger up movement. Long press an app until it starts to jiggle then press the red minus sign, this will just close an app not delete it. Clear all your apps, then long press the power button, top right hand side until the slide off bar appears. Slide and then a Whirly will appear, once it disappears the iPad is now off. Long press the power button again until an apple logo appears, after some seconds your iPad will restart. See if that's fixed it. If it hasn't do a reboot. Long press the power button with the home button simultaneously, you will see the slide appear and disappear, keep pressing until the apple logo appears. This is a reboot, it will take a little longer to restart. That should fix it now. Good luck

I had the same problem and the nice man at the apple store sorted it for me. Double click the bottom button to show the bottom bar and go as far LEFT I.e. push finger right, as possible and you will find a sound icon it may be muted there. Mine was and clicking it fixed it.

Hello forum members, I am retired also. I discovered the Apple difference several years ago after many PC's and their problems.
I bought an iMac online, custom configured for me and I love it. Then I bought the 64gb iPad about a year ago and just received my new iPhone 4S last week. Next will be a MacBook Pro for my wife. I have little to offer yet here, but hopefully much to learn. I am a

Hi there. I'm new to this forum & have a question. Can I lend an ebook from my IBooks library to another IPad user?

With respect to your question, at this time no, you cannot "lend" an eBook from your iBook Library to anyone else (thats not part of your Apple account) as you would with its paper counterpart. This is due to the DRM protection included with the file. That might change one of these days as competitors (Amazon, B&N, etc.) have some books that the authors have agreed to allow "lending" for a limited period of time, but it's not part of the iBook experience at the moment.

That's probably not the answer you were looking for, but I hope it helps.

Welcome again and enjoy!

Hi all, I'm a frequent traveller who loves using the iPad to connect on the go, its just the perfect for traveling. Became an Apple addict a few years ago when I bought a PowerBook, then the original iPhone but never thought it would happen, sure many of you are the same boat!

Excited to see what Apple will release next, with iCloud, Siri things seem to be converging onto an iTV. Can't wait to not have to wrestle with my remotes anymore, let's see.....
