iOS 5- what would you like to see for iPad?

File management somthing other than iTunes.

I think making itunes poisonous for Windows users is part of their business plan, though a strange one it is. It gives you two choices, either make a MacBook your next computer purchase or wait for the Android tablets to catch up and buy one of them.

Not sure I follow. There are more windows users than Mac users and most users purchase music, movies, apps from Apple, so it seems logical to assume Apple wants to make iTunes as easy as possible for as many platforms as possible.

And the last thing Apple wants is a major migration to Android. Perhaps I am misunderstanding you, bit Apple definitely does not want to make it easy for Android users.

As for me, I am back to using iTunes. It is easy to use and I seem to have fewer issues with iTunes.

Clarify if I missed your point.

I agree overall. I love how iTunes functions mostly. Just don't want it to always do a full sync when time is of the essence and I simply want to transfer 1 song, pic or movie. That is the annoying bit for me.

Not sure if anyone has said this yet, but iPhoto for iPad would be cool! They have done iMovie and GarageBand so I don't see why not!

It already exists (sort of). Mail.app, iCal, as well as QuickTime player already exists with a different name and a different icon.

Well, I guess I should add my wish list in here now that we are less than a week away from seeing what's in iOS5:
1. A functional status bar. As it stands now, the status bar in iOS just displays very basic information: Time, battery bar and percentage, Cell Network, Cell strength, wifi strength, whether music is playing, and whether bluetooth is turned on. I would like to see this changed to a functional status bar where those icons can be clicked, and additional information can be gleaned from a menu that comes up, and actions can be taken like song playback and bluetooth/WiFi/3G turned on and off. This would help cut down on the tap number to do certain functions, like toggling bluetooth or changing Wifi networks. Basically the less often I have to go to a setting page, taking me out of whatever I am doing, to do something simple like that, the better.
2. Improved built-in apps. I don't think the built-in apps really take as much advantage of the screen space afforded by the iPad as I think they could and I think many can and should be improved in iOS5. The iPod app could definitely use visualizations and other interface changes. It would not surprise me to see the Videos, iPod, and iTunes apps be combined into a single "iTunes for iPad" app. The Contacts app could actually use the entire screen in portrait mode (maybe use a rolodex metaphor as opposed to an address book?). The calender app is probably the best of the basic PIM apps, but even it could be improved, like being able to add appointments just be tapping on the time it starts.
3. Wireless Syncing. I use Evernote, GoodReader, and Kindle often, and thanks to them, I have seen the future. Wireless being able to sync your content with your computer. No use of silly cables. True, I may still use wired syncing to move videos over if only to reduce its effects on the device's battery life, but still.
4. Integrated Social Media. With Ping dead-on arrival, at least in my house, it would be great if Apple sucks up its pride and provides integration with Facebook and Twitter, just as they have already done with Youtube.
5. Widgets. I would love to be able to see at a glance on my home screen my appointments for the day, the current song playing, and my new emails.
