IOS 7 problems

When you are done, the books should show up in the Books section in Library mode in iTunes. Select the Audiobooks tab at the top. This is your confirmation that you've done things right. You can select them just like an album to see the tracks and check them for proper order.

Get it right there before syncing to save time and headaches.

You're welcome,

it's a recommended step after any update, just helps everything to settle in nicely! Enjoy!

Terrible sound returned. Hard reset then ok. Total loss of sound, thrice. Each time did a hard reset and sound returned but it did not dampen my frustration. As I edit this post I found that i cannot put the cursor to the letters in a particular word other than the first or the last letter!!! Whether this is a setting or a bug, It's a ****in shame!! im restraining myself to throw this gadget in frustration!! Shame on apple to put out this update with such terrible bugs. Wait.. Wait.. I have to calm myself....

For the bolder part above: if you press and hold your finger on the text, you should get a pop-up magnifying glass. Then, still holding your finger to the screen, you can then drag the cursor to wherever you wish. Like this:

Hope that helps.

Thanks Marilyn. I might have forgotten how to do this as I have not been using the ipad for quite a while now. I only did so last night as I noticed the sound went off again for the 3rd time when I was about to upgrade to 7.0.2. I noticed the thread on sound problems and I will take a look at it later and see if there are fixes for my problem.

Hi Marilyn. I'm intrigued and impressed with how you got this screen shot while holding a finger down to show that magnifying glass, which disappears when the finger is lifted. I'm guessing thumb on the text and and a thumb and finger on the Home and Sleep buttons? Anyway, neat!:)

No worries. Do come back and let us know how you get on ... or if you need more assistance with that sound problem. Hopefully, with lots of folk working it, we can get to the source (and correction!) of your issue.

Marilyn

P.S. And, thanks, OB. For sure, that was one time I wished my cat had opposable thumbs! :)

The problem described in the other thread is similar to what I had experienced initially and was also fixed via hard reset. I have no reason to be so upset afterall as I can go to this reliable site for answers. I sincerely apologize for that cuz word (good thing the forum automatically screens this out). The sound is holding up at the moment since the 7.0.2 update. I hope this has been permanently fixed. I wonder if the rough transition from portrait to landscape and v.v. will be fixed soon. I want the previous super smooth transition of the iOS6. :)

And Thank You once again for making that extra effort (finger twisting maneuver?) to emphasize the point you were making.

Hello JC_AZ and welcome to the forum. After every system revision it's a good idea to reset your iPad. This does no harm to any settings but just tidies up cache and gets your iPad to toe the line re any problems that may have appeared.
Do this: .... apologies if you have already tried this:
Simultaneously hold down the On/Off and Home buttons until the screen blacks out. Keep holding both until the white Apple logo appears and then let both go. Then wait until your wallpaper appears. Restart your iPad.

Thanks OB, I did try the reset and have tried to insure I don't have some settings incorrectly in place to cause the problem. Even being logged into this forum last night, I had to log back in this morning, also to the home page I have setup for my associated links, along with FB and WF...I get kicked out about every 20-30 minutes and I have to log back in.

I have one more suggestion and then I'm out of puff, and others may hopefully chip in with more. Again apologies if you have done this:
Remove the apps you have been using, hanging around in cache, from the task bar. This is now done under iOS 7.2 by double clicking on the home button or four finger swipe upwards to reveal the miniature screen above the app in the bottom bar. One finger swipe upwards on that small screen to delete the app.

When you log into a site, is there an option to have the site "remember" you? In Safari, when you log into this forum, there is a "Remember Me?" button. If you press on that before you hit the Go/Return/Enter key, you should still have an active session when you go back.

If you've ticked the Remember box(es), do you still have to log in? Remember tho, if you reset Safari's cookies and history (in the Settings app), you are wiping out the site remembering...

Hi, I am a casual iPad user, email and extensive web brousing. I installed iOS7 last week. It took few minutes to instal and a lot longer to find my Lost apps. It works, but the experience has been disappointing. I like the single entry bar at the top of the screen, but beyond that the touch screen seems disfunctional and the Control Center is always popping up when I don't want it. The screen look is totally bland and uninteresting. All of this and the inability use Adoby Flash on many web pages makes me think I will be looking for something ells for my next tablet.

FINALLY managed to update my ipad to ios7 but I'm wishing I hadn't now! touchscreen has lost a lot of sensitivity I now have to tap several times on some icons & others won't work at all! trying to do someting like set a photo for wallpaper is now very difficult & the thing seems to freeze like windows 3.1 used to back in the early 90's! sad y unlike windows, you can't revert to earlier OS! Very disappointing!
Did you do a reset as Leelai mentioned near the start of this thread.
That is pretty much standard procedure, and will solve some issues.
