I am a new iPad user and have been used to my PCs remembering my home network WEP security key, but my iPad asks for this to be entered every time I switch wifi on. This is a real pain! Is there any way to make it remember it?

In 'Settings', 'WiFi' have you got it programmed to 'Join known networks automatically'?

'Join known networks automatically' is not an on/off option.
The option I see in wifi settings is 'Ask to Join Networks' with a note underneath stating that known networks will be joined automatically. This part of the note remains the same whether the 'ask to join' setting is on or off. The need for a password is still there regardless of whether the 'ask to join' is on or off.
