What's new

LEGO Harry Potter game

Hi, BrennB. I have read quite a few of your helpful posts in my effort to get thru Episode 1. I originally wanted to complete it in Story mode, but en I got hopelessly lost in the Forbidden Forest, I wanted to do Free Play just in order to keep playing. I have stopped counting the number of times I've attempted to get thru the Forest level, only to receive the message, "I think we made a wrong turn. Maybe we should follow the red mushrooms?". I have yet to see a red mushroom in this level, and I've been thru the DS version (text and video), in which my problem is not addressed.
In your wisdom, have you any idea what I'm missing here?

Thank you,
Kermione

Are you using the luminous spell to light your way? Be sure you light up then you'll see the big mushrooms marking the path.

Also, another question, in the third year at Hogwarts express, where is the second card hidden? I found the one in the prefects carriage, but seen no other! =(
Thanks!

This confused me, too! After the train goes dark and you're playing with Lupin, go back in the train (in the opposite direction of the prefects' car). There's a chest that wasn't there previously that you have to use decendo (sp?) on. You have to do this in free play because you will need a goblin.

Alas! I have used Lumos innumerable times, and tried without using it, too. I also have had no trouble getting extra studs from the Owl. But nothing seems to reveal the Red Mushroom trail to me...

Hi Kermione,

When you walk up the path use the Lumos spell and look around. Once inside you should see mushrooms at the start of the exit path you need. There are two types of mushrooms, cream with dark stripes, you must be following these, and the red spotted ones. As you approach the red mushroom exit you will probably be attacked by someone in a red hat ( they look a bit like Super Mario). You go through this process several times. Eventually you get attacked by 4 Super Mario's, and that's when you get the potion. I found the best way to stop these Mario's is to cast the stun spell (spin round).

Good luck.

Help for Lego HP Years 1-4 Newbies

After spending many hours trying to have FUN with this beautiful game, finding myself hopelessly caught in the Forbidden Forest level for over a week, and begging for assistance from experienced players, I have something to give back!
I have finally completed the Level. But, Merlin's beard, was it tedious! Rather than give away the technique (as that seems not to be the approved way of the Forum), I will suggest a few things that I used along the way.
1. Walkthroughs on Youtube. In particular, those by "iawesomeguy." He is actually playing on an iPad, and so everything shown onscreen looks like our interface. Also, the lighting on the video is much brighter than it is on my iPad, which made it possible to distinguish ALL THE COLORS.
2. Extraordinary persistence, coupled with slow motion. Each time you start the Forbidden Forest level, be prepared to RE-DO several of its component parts.
3. THE MAP. It really helped to be able to watch Harry on it while moving my hand around on the screen. Funny how much the hand can get in the way at times, isn't it?
4. Devotion to the Harry Potter series, which can keep someone like me (not a gamer) engaged in the adventure for so long.

My gratitude to you Forum members who replied to my several posts. I shall do my best to answer anyone else's questions about this game or the iPad that tap into my knowledge base.

Well done Kermione.
I've always fancied being a Ssssslytherin myself
I'm not far behind you. I still have to do the third task in both modes and the second task in free play.
If memory serves I've completed about 98% of the game.
Anyone else close.

I've got some of Lego series for the Wii, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones and have just got Star Wars (the complete saga).

Harry Potter on the Wii is different on the Wii. Obviously the story is the same, but what you have to do, and how you do it are completely different. I think I prefer the iPad version.

I hope they bring out Lego Indiana Jones for the iPad.

Ta Da. I've finally finished it. Apart from the odd glitch which caused a restart, and the fact that there's no special level at the end, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I've found this forum very helpful, but finding answers can be hard and waiting for a reply can take a while.

If you're stuck and you need help fast try this website:

Someone mentioned it earlier in this forum. I found it very helpful. It is actually written for the DS but it's virtually the same.

Good to luck to everyone who are still playing.

Hi Alex,

In case you've missed these points in previous posts I'll restate them.

The game can sometimes stops responding properly. This can mean you get stuck in a room or cannot operate an important part of the game, or in my case the game crashed in the Shrieking Shack and rebooted. When this happened to me I closed the open Safari windows and rebooted the iPad.

If you're playing in Story Mode you will not be able to interact with everything.

This level is quite complicated to explain. Try this post:

I've just finished the game and I used this a few times when I got stuck.

Hope this helps

Help please! I'm stuck on year three when they go off to help Sirius. I can't seem to find my way out of the garden. Someone help please!

Hi,
Can you tell us exactly which chapter you are trying to complete in level three. I take it you are doing this in Story Mode.

I think you're meaning the Time Turner chapter. If you are, you need to move around the gardens as much as you can. Once again you will not be able to do everything in Story Mode. You need to collect the ingredients for a potion and lure MacNair away from Buckbeak.

Use Harry, pay particular attention for the Pet flashing on the right hand side.
Also use the map and read the speech bubbles.

I hope that helps.

Regards

Dave
