Great thread! I've just downloaded Zite and I am sure I'll love it.

Free... Netflix, red box, flicksterr, and dropbox
Paid... Omnifocus(task management system and it has literally changed my life), reedit blue, mind node, imockups, and star walk

Games, world of goo, perfect cell, and many others... But since I've already broke the rules I'll stop there.

Omnifocus, did I say that?

I love this thread! Because of this thread, I just installed Zite and I also love it :D

My favorite apps are: crackle, qwiki, and city friends.

They are all free because I currently don't have any paid apps installed.

I don't have any paid ones. So my two favorites would be Flipboard and Poltico.. Excluding Echofon of course.

Free - Dropbox, , TuneIn Radio, Sky Go, Skype
Paid - Football Manager, Wired, DocsTo Go, WordBook XL, Scrabble (due to iPhone as second screen capability)

Free: flipboard
Paid: I just bought my first paid app (that i like). The Michael Jackson Trial--that way I can watch it when I'm up in the middle of the night; I am insomniac.

Free - Wordpress, makes blogging from the iPad easy.
Paid - Procreate, an art app. I have Garageband, but it's so restrictive compared to the "real" Garageband that I find it more like a toy than music-making software. I'd love to be proved wrong, tho.

Free - Flipboard, I absolutely love it
Paid - estroke, an app that helps me learing how to write Chinese characters. It also has a flashcard tool, brilliant help to memorise those pesky things.
